Operation Christmas Child

We've heard about this for a few years through Church, and contribute a shoe-box to the appeal through that route.

There's a conversation in the office at the moment about it, and admittedly, I haven't heard it all, but I get the feeling that there is someone in the college against it, on Equal Opportunities grounds of all things! It's not like ANY of the preparation is being done in works time, as far as I can work out, it's all being done during lunch, or after work, but there's still murmurings of discontent from afar!

Madness I tell you, Madness!

Operation Christmas Child is now run/owned by the American Christian "charity" Samaritans Purse who not only sent shoe boxes of presents out to "needy" countries but also include pro-christian/anti-other-religion stuff...

My parents church run a homelessness project and members who help are expressly forbidden from evangelising to the patrons.

The idea being that it is a Christian mission, but they serve their religion by merely helping people, and living as an example.
